want to make a difference …
We’re a small friendly organisation and we’re always on the look out for new members to join our team in one way or another. Check out our current vacancies below together with the various different options you can get involved.
Hub Host
Here at Create Community we’re looking to expand our small, friendly team! We have a unique and exciting opportunity for someone who, first and foremost, cares about and loves looking after people.
THE ROLE
Our community Hub is at the heart of who we are and what we do and we’re looking for someone to ‘host’ this special space. Someone who can be that first, warm and friendly face that people see when they walk through our door … making everyone that comes in feel welcome, accepted and valued.
We’re still not sure what to call this role but, essentially, it’s a hospitality role. It’s about welcoming people in, making them feel at ease, maybe making them a tea or coffee. It’s about taking the time to gently understand what brought them to this point … and then exploring how we might help them.
We also need this individual to look after the Hub ‘environment’ too … ensuring everything’s in place, we’re all stocked up and we’re ready to go before we open our door every week day.
THE INDIVIDUAL
As you would expect, you’ll need to be a ‘people person’ with buckets of empathy, patience and non-judgement. Equally, you’ll need to be well organised, pragmatic and able to get on with the role unsupervised. You might have a background in hospitality and now want to make a difference in the community. Or you might have spent time working with individuals in the third sector and now want to contribute in a different way. Importantly for us, this is a key and fundamental addition to our small team, and therefore it's really important we get the right person ... someone who feels the same way about the people we work with and shares our values and ethos.
WORKING HOURS AND SALARY
Working days: Monday to Friday (all days essential)
Working hours: 25 hours per week (09.30 – 2.30)
Salary: £25-28k (pro rata FTE)
